Mifta obtains security for her family with Links to Work.
Mifta moved from one temporary role to another and she was determined to land a role that gave her the stability she had been looking for.
Why Mifta joined the Links to Work programme?
After some spells of employment within administration and temporary roles, Mifta found herself unemployed again in early 2018. She was determined to become fully active with job seeking and she sought after new employment goals.
Prior to joining the Links to Work programme, Mifta had attended numerous interviews with no successful outcomes. Mifta joined the programme in order to gain one to one help and support in building her confidence and motivation. She also wanted to update her CV for job applications and learn the best practice when attending interviews.
How Links to Work Helped
Mifta met her Personal Consultant Amanda Brown and together they formed a plan of action to help with her confidence so that she could sell herself at an interview. Upon meeting Mifta, Amanda saw how determined she was to get back into work, she said: ‘‘Mifta is a caring and polite young lady who wanted to achieve her goals given the right level of support and guidance.”
During their initial meetings, Mifta was enthusiastic about her options and set herself some goals to help her be work ready again. Amanda supported Mifta with completing her DBS checks, organised one to one jobsearch appointments and carried out interview preparation classes.
Mifta attended monthly review meetings and kept in touch with Amanda via email, text and phone calls and always asked for additional support when needed, Amanda provided her with encouragement and increased her self-belief by allowing Mifta to identify her own strengths and talk about her achievements throughout her Links to Work journey.
Mifta has a strong CV to showcase her skills and work experiences - her commitment to taking a new job is simply down to finding the right employer for her to work with and finding a suitable vacancy giving her the opportunity to be part of a successful team.
Getting the job
Mifta completed her own daily job searching and applications in-between her appointments and with one-to-one support from Amanda Mifta was able to produce strong quality applications.
Amanda said: ‘’Mifta was a pleasure to work with, taking the full support from Links to Work; she communicated and interacted well during our meeting’s which has aided her positive mind-set and commitment in finding work.’’
Through Mifta’s hard work applying for vacancies since joining the program she enabled herself to achieve more than she expected and has now started her new job with Metropolitan in Nottingham as a Support Worker.
