Links to Work helps Karl tackle his depression.
Nottingham customer Karl makes massive progress with his mental health barriers with the help and support of Links to Work.
Karl joined the programme in November 2018 as he suffered from ADHD, mild autism, severe spilt personality disorder, dyslexia, anxiety and depression. All these barriers held Karl back from getting into employment, so he reached out to Links to Work to help him gain confidence and upskill himself.
How Links to Work helped
Karl was introduced to Samantha, his personal consultant who looked at his barriers and felt that he would benefit from the Health and Wellbeing sessions. Karl began attending the sessions on a one to one basis, he eventually built up the confidence to attend the group sessions. Karl also completed a number of other workshops such as CV, confidence building and skills provision – all of which were all aimed at building Karl’s confidence giving him the tools he needs to manage his life.
Karl is now attending weekly one to one jobsearch appointments to prioritise searching and applying for sustainable employment. Samantha supported Karl every step of the way by making sure that all of Karl’s application forms are strong enough to go through to the applications processes.
Karl has made huge progress since joining the Links to Work programme. He is now able to manage his health better, lowered his medication and stopped his depression tablets. Karl feels more positive and progressing both in his personal life and within the programme. With the continued support from the Links to Work team, Karl cannot wait to secure a new job.
